The Lion Ballroom Leominster No Rules Wedding Ceremony

Oct 26, 2020

Photo-shoot at The Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue for No Rules Wedding Ceremonies. Showcasing some amazing local wedding professionals working together to give you some wonderful inspiration for dressing this fantastic venue.

The impressive ballroom is a beautiful large space in a ‘Classical’ design with large windows, and very high ceilings.  It has a raised area at the far end with two amazing columns which make it absolutely perfect for your Ceremony.

Boho-Chic at The Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue

We decided to go for a relaxed boho-chic style to show you how this beautiful Lion Ballroom space is just perfect for relaxed and intimate wedding as well as more traditional and formal wedding styles.

The stunning dress designed by Bowen Dryden is a floral beauty which has received so many compliments from everyone who’s seen it.  Called ‘Forget Me Not’ – and you certainly won’t forget it – it features delicate 3D silk and embroidered flowers and is hand finished with glass beads and diamanté.  The dress was the starting point for all of the styling decisions.

With such a statement dress we decided to keep the brides look low key and natural.  So the bride’s hair was left loose with minimal styling and makeup was kept soft and natural with a smoky eye. The groom’s suit and waistcoat in light grey with pink pocket handkerchief and buttonhole, was impeccable and complemented the brides dress beautifully.

Gorgeous Green Florals

After lots of discussions we decided to keep The Lion Ballroom photoshoot colour palette restricted and used lots of different greenery complemented by beautiful pale roses.  This complemented the boho-chic look perfectly.  Lynne Jessett is the very talented and experienced florist who created the marvellous moongate and all the different flower arrangements to style the different areas of the venue.

The Ceremony Area at The Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue

The Lion Ballroom Wedding venue ceremony area was the main focus, and Lynne created a marvellous Moongate between the classical columns, dressed up with lots of greenery in a relaxed naturalistic style.  This looked spectacular, but still allowed the beautiful bride and her dress to take centre stage.

Lots of storm lanterns in rose gold and silver, and white candles created the warmth and focus that we wanted for the Ceremony area.  Drawing all the attention to the beautiful bride and groom and creating a spectacular yet intimate area for the Ceremony.

The main focus of the day is always the Ceremony itself, and we acknowledged that in our styling choices.  No Rules Wedding Ceremonies mean that the ceremony is all about you.

Gorgeous Table Dressing

The bride and groom’s table was dressed in a very light, natural and relaxed style.  We wanted to show how simple classic elements can be combined with rustic styling to great effect.  Using rustic hessian, contrasted with fine crystal cut-glass and lots of tall glass candleholders, the styling has a relaxed yet simple elegance.  The floral arrangements in crystal cut-glass bowls are very loose and free form and Lynne’s expertise in her craft shines through.  Doesn’t it look pretty?

Personalised Commitment Ceremony at the Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue

A Commitment Ceremony created and officiated by a Celebrant is all about you and your love story.  From the first day you met until your engagement.  There are no rules and regulations to worry about so the words used in the ceremony are your own and each ceremony is unique – just like you.  Romantic, fun, quirky – it will totally reflect your characters.  No other ceremony will be the same as yours as no-one else is like you and no-one else will use your words.  This is the beauty and appeal of a No Rules Wedding Ceremony.  And why so many modern couples are choosing to have a No Rules Wedding Ceremony created by a Celebrant.

The legal element is taken care of by a quick 15 minute visit to the registrar the week before or after to complete the boring legalities. This currently costs less than £60.

Your own Wedding Vows – words from your heart

Telling your partner in your own words, what it is you really love about them in front of family and friends is such a special experience.  Definitely not one to be missed.  I’ll help you to write you own Wedding Vows using words that come naturally to you.  No boring officialdom at all.  This is the most special and intimate part of your day and you’ll remember it forever.  A No Rules Wedding Ceremony really does mean there are NO RULES.

You’ll also have a wonderful reminder to keep forever – your very own Vow Books which will be made especially for you, and a special copy of your Ceremony and a Commitment Certificate.  All beautiful mementoes of your special ceremony.

Outdoor Courtyard Area

In 1843 The Lion Hotel was one of five coaching inns in Leominster.  The entrance portal from the main street is where the carriages would drive through to get to the stables area at the back.  These days the Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue has this great undercover area that provides an ideal outdoor socialising area once the ceremony is over.  Once the large doors are closed it’s a really cosy area which can be dressed up with twinkly lights for informal snacks such as a grazing table and drinks.

The antique horsebox bar from ChinagreyUK fits this space just perfectly, both in size and aesthetics.   Imagine yourself trying out a couple of their amazing cocktails as you mingle with your family and friends.

Beautiful Historic Venue – The Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue

The Lion Ballroom Wedding Venue is a Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Leominster town with it’s stunning grand ballroom is perfect for your ceremony and celebrations.  The ballroom boasts majestic columns and marvellous plasterwork that’s been restored to it’s original glory.  What a fantastic space to hold your special day.  Get in touch for a no obligation informal chat to find out more.  We’d love to help you create your perfect day.

A big thank you to these wonderful wedding professionals who came together and worked hard to create this wonderfully styled photoshoot
